STAFF:
Jinsoo Terry
created Advanced Global Connections, LLC in 2004 to meet the demand for
training, consultancy and other services related to multicultural business
activities in the USA and abroad.
She is a well-known author and speaker in the USA, Asia and
increasingly in Europe, and has gained a
reputation as an expert on multicultural and motivational issues. Her skills in
managing widely multicultural workforces led to a demand for Jinsoo to speak at
international events on the subject, and to help the US Department of Commerce
with multicultural trade issues. She co-founded the Greater Hispanic Chamber of
Commerce in San Jose, and Success Builders
International in Silicon Valley to help
train business owners and professionals in communication, leadership and human
relations. She founded a San Francisco chapter of
Toastmasters International which she called the Rhinoceros Business Club
(“charge straight ahead, thick skinned”) in 1998, where she has mentored more
than 800 young business people in public speaking and leadership.
A member of the National Speakers’ Association, she makes
frequent speeches and presentations at major events and conferences. She is a
regular weekly columnist for The Korea
Times, America’s largest
Korean newspaper, and for the Korean
Christian Times. She was voted Most Influential Korean-American by The Korea Times, has been featured on
Channel 5, CBS Eyewitness News in the San Francisco Bay Area and hailed as one
of the top 10 Asian Pacific Island community leaders by ABC TV. San Francisco
Mayor Willie Brown proclaimed July 10, 2001 “Jinsoo Terry Day” in recognition
of her contributions to the San Francisco business
community. She was also proclaimed Minority Business Advocate of the Year in
2003 by the US Department of Commerce, and was awarded a Certificate of
Appreciation for her assistance with minority outreach and trade promotion
activities. In 2004 she gained the US Commercial Service Export Award.

Eric
Mendelsohn, Vice President of Operations
With over 20 years of professional experience in education and
management, Eric has worked with a wide range of individuals and organizations
from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. He has an M.A. in English
and extensive management and program development experience, as well as many
years of teaching and training experience in various aspects of Business
Communications.
As the Director of Learning Development at the Fashion Institute of
Design and Merchandising, he designed and implemented learning and training
programs for a diverse, international student population. He has also taught
courses at San Jose State University and The Academy of Art University, and is a highly skilled workshop
facilitator and dynamic and engaging speaker.

Timothy
J. Colbert, Director of Training
Tim holds a
M.A. in Intercultural Management from the School for International Training. He
has lived and worked in North America, South America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. His
extensive intercultural experience includes work with the Korean Department of
Education, The Arab-American University in Palestine, the Soros
Foundation in Bulgaria, as well as
extensive training and facilitation work in Chile and Japan.
Tim has experience developing successful training programs for an
impressive array of clients, including (among others) multinational companies
in the technology, automotive, clothing, telecommunications, aerospace and
financial services sectors. He is a strong communicator and has authored
many intercultural training materials, including “Beyond Words”, a
cross-cultural training handbook for Chilean professionals. He also
co-developed “Working in America”, a
handbook for foreign-born job seekers living in the Bay Area.

Cheryl Gross, Director of Sales
Cheryl has extensive experience in business development,
corporate sales and team management in the translation, cultural
training and language services markets. In addition to her strong
background in this field, her international living experience in Europe and Asia has given
her a direct understanding of the many cultural differences that are critical
to succeeding in a global marketplace. As the former District Director for
Berlitz International in San Francisco, she
further developed her skill at establishing partnerships and successful
corporations.

Danielle
Pelletier, Program Development
Danielle has
been developing custom-designed courses and teaching the English language
and U.S. culture
since 1997. Prior to teaching, Ms. Pelletier worked for ten years in the
business sector in operations, sales, marketing and account management. She
blends her experience in the business world with extensive experience teaching
communication skills.
Ms.
Pelletier has taught students from Asia, the Middle East, South
America, Russia, India, Europe and
Africa in Intensive English Programs at universities and colleges on both
coasts ~ Boston and the San
Francisco Bay Area. She has also worked on a one-on-one basis with
international professionals in U.S. companies
in the software engineering, financial services, biotechnology, and sound
technology industries.
She holds a
Bachelor’s degree in Communications with a Concentration in Interpersonal
Communications from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a TEFL
Certificate from New World Teachers in San Francisco, California and a
MATESOL from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont.

Terence
Hird, Founder of Negotiation-International and a UC Berkeley Extension Honored
Instructor, has over 35 years of international business and negotiation
experience under his belt. Mr. Hird’s work as a business owner, consultant and
educator has brought him into contact with top business organizations and
learning institutions around the world. He has done business and negotiation in
more than fifty countries around the world including countries throughout Asia,
Europe, The Middle East, South America, and Africa.
Selected
as a UC Berkeley Extension Honored Instructor in 2004, Terry teaches various
programs for UC Extension including business negotiation and international
business strategy. His negotiation training and facilitation has recently
included many Bay Area firms and organizations such as Genentech, Wells Fargo,
InterMune, The Port of Oakland, Lawrence Livermore Nuclear Lab, Chevron, and
Samsung.

Peter Wilton
Peter Wilton is a Lecturer in Marketing at
the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley. He teaches Global Marketing
Strategy and International Management. He has served on the faculties of Duke
and Purdue Universities in the U.S. and the Graduate School of Management at
the University of Melbourne in Australia. He is also currently a visiting
professor at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. He has also collaborated with a variety
of international professional bodies to design and deliver executive
development initiatives that enrich the organization's membership.
Peter Wilton has been the recipient of
numerous awards and fellowships for his work in management, including several
from the prestigious National Science Foundation as well as the Marketing
Science Institute. In the US, he has been recognized by Business Week magazine
as one of the country’s leading business instructors. In addition, he has been
recognized in the Who’s Who Registry of Leading American Executives. His
articles on management appear in numerous leading journals, including the

Carman
Blaine Carman is a business professional
with 20 years proven experience in marketing and business development for
international high technology companies. He recently developed and grew
an IT business incubator for Japanese startups entering Silicon Valley, called the U.S.-Japan Business Incubation Center. The center is a project of JETRO (the
Japan External Trade Organization), a Japanese semi-governmental trade
organization.
Prior to managing the U.S-Japan Business Incubation Center, Blaine was Pricing Manager of a $3 billion
division of Sun Microsystems where he succeeded in developing and implementing
worldwide pricing strategy for the division’s products. He also held a variety
of management positions for both U.S. and Asian enterprises providing marketing
and operational leadership for companies seeking to globalize their
