It wasn’t all that long ago when the “typical” American was represented on television and in ads and motion pictures as a person of European descent – white, male, established (or quickly establishing). But the demographics of America are slated to switch soon from predominantly European-American to Americans-of-every-color-and-culture. The populations of African-, Hispanic- and Asian-Americans are growing at such a rate that within twenty years Caucasian Americans will be the minority population. If that’s something that concerns you, diversity education may be your answer.
